SMR Gearbox Set up
Satisfactory performance is determined by correct set up. lubrication and upkeep. thus it is important the guidelines during the installation and upkeep leaflet. provided with each and every gearbox. are followed cautiously. several of the essential aspects of belt and torque-arm set up are listed beneath.
one. Install pulley on gearbox input shaft as near for the reducer possible, and mount reducer on driven shaft as near to bearing as useful. failure to try and do this will induce excess loads during the input shaft bearings and output bearings and could trigger their premature failure.
2. Install motor and wedge belt drive with the belt pull at roughly 90° on the center line concerning driven and input shafts. this may permit tensioning from the wedge belt drive with all the torque arm which need to preferably be in tension. if output hub runs anti-clockwise. torque arm need to be positioned the proper.
3. lnstall torque-arm fulcrum on the rigid support to ensure the torque-arm will be at approximately right angles to the center line with the driven shaft plus the torque arm situation bolt. ensure there exists enough take up in the turnbuckle for belt tension adjustment.
Continue to keep near.
Bell drive can be positioned in any handy postion. should the torque arm should be to be employed to tighten the belts, the drive need to be at about tight angle to the line in between the input and output shafts.
Bell drive might be found to the appropriate if wanted.
If output hub rotates clock-wise. position belt drive and torque arm in opposite path to that proven in the illustration.
Torque arm and belt consider up.
Torque arm may be mounted for the ideal if preferred.
